A soft reboot that promises to "return to the suspense of the original," Jurassic World Rebirth is directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One, Godzilla), who knows how to frame a dinosaur. It delivered the second-biggest July 4th opening of all time.

Has grossed $872 million worldwide. Edwards treats the dinosaurs as actual threats rather than theme park attractions — a course correction the franchise badly needed.

Verdict: The best Jurassic World film — a low bar, but still. If the franchise must continue, this is the way.
