The first MPA film of 2025 to cross $1 billion globally, and the highest-grossing live-action animated film ever. A live-action remake of the 2002 Disney charmer, Lilo & Stitch succeeded largely on the back of an aggressive marketing campaign and the irresistible CGI Stitch.

It's slight, it's sentimental, and it printed money — the highest-grossing live-action animated film of all time, surpassing 2011's The Smurfs.

Verdict: The least essential film on this list, but impossible to dislike. If you have a six-year-old, it's already on rotation in your house.
